Free DICOM Anonymizer, Online

Remove patient information from DICOM images securely, right in your browser. No software to install, no account required — just upload, review, and download.

How it works

1

Load your files

Select DICOM files or a whole folder. Files from the same series are grouped automatically.

2

Review redactions

The tool suggests areas to hide. Adjust them, and apply the same redactions to all images of the same type at once.

3

Download

Review each image, then anonymize and download your files — ready to share.

Why use it

Processed in your browser

DICOM metadata is anonymized locally, in your browser, before anything is sent.

Free and no sign-up

No installation, no account. Open the tool and start right away.

Built for medical imaging

Handles single-frame, multiframe, and full studies, preserving the structure clinicians rely on.

How your data is handled

Two levels of anonymization. DICOM metadata (patient name, ID, dates) is removed automatically in your browser, before anything is sent. Information burned into the image itself — such as a name shown in a corner — cannot be removed automatically: the tool helps you cover it with redaction tools, but you should always review each image before sharing. A file is fully anonymized only after both the metadata is removed and you have confirmed the visible image is clean.

To rebuild the final file, the anonymized header and the redacted images are sent to our server for processing, then automatically deleted. Your original files and their content are never stored.

What we could do with your help

The anonymizer is just the start. These are the features we're working toward — your support helps us build them.

Registered area with higher limits

Create a free account to lift usage limits and work at scale.

Personalized, remembered redactions

Save your own redaction patterns and have them proposed automatically the next time.

Automatic text detection (OCR)

Detect text burned into images and suggest redaction areas automatically, even for devices we haven't seen before — always as a suggestion to review, never a guarantee.

API for CRF integration

Connect the anonymizer directly to clinical research workflows.

DICOM viewer with measurements

View images and measure lengths and areas directly in the browser.

Measurement templates

Upload a template of the fields you need to measure, fill them in on the images, and download a completed file with the values.

Support the project

This tool is free to use. If it helps your work, you can support its development and help us build the features above.
